This story will gradually change from English to Japanese.

Yumi's First Day at University

Yumi is a university student. Today is her first day. Yumi is nervous, but she is also excited.

Yumi wa daigakusei desu. Today wa Yumi no hajimete no hi desu. Yumi wa nervous desu, demo excited desu.

Yumi wa daigakusei desu. きょうはゆみのはじめてのひです。 Yumi wa kinchou shiteimasu, demo tanoshimi ni shiteimasu.

Yumi wakes up early. Yumi wa hayaku okimasu. She brushes her teeth and gets dressed. Yumi wa ha wo migaki, fuku wo kigaemasu.

ゆみははやくおきます。 Yumi wa ha wo migaki, fuku wo kigaemasu. Yumi wa asagohan wo tabemasu. あさごはんはトーストです。 Yumi wa toosuto ga suki desu.

ゆみはトーストをたべます。 Toosuto wa oishii desu. After breakfast, Yumi grabs her bag. あさごはんのあと、ゆみはかばんをとります。 Yumi wa ie wo demasu. ゆみはだいがくへいきます。

「いってきます！」 Yumi wa iimashita. Her mother says, 「いってらっしゃい！」

Yumi wa basu ni norimasu. ゆみはバスにのります。 The bus is crowded. バスはこんでいます。 Yumi wa suwatte, kyou no yotei wo kangaemasu. きょうはなにをするのかな？

At university, Yumi meets her friend, Hana. だいがくで、ゆみはともだちのはなにあいます。

「おはよう、はな！」 Yumi wa iimashita. Hana wa iimashita, 「おはよう、ゆみ！」

Yumi and Hana walk to their first class. ゆみとはなはさいしょのじゅぎょうにいきます。 The classroom is big. きょうしつはおおきいです。

「ここはおおきいですね、」 Yumi wa iimashita. 「はい、おおきいですね、」 Hana wa iimashita.

The teacher enters the classroom. せんせいがきょうしつにはいります。 「みなさん、おはようございます、」 sensei wa iimashita.

「おはようございます！」 Yumi to Hana wa iimashita.

The teacher begins the lesson. せんせいはじゅぎょうをはじめます。 Yumi wa kiiteimasu. ゆみはべんきょうします。

「にほんごはむずかしいです、」 Yumi wa omoimasu. 「でも、がんばります！」

After class, Yumi and Hana go to the cafeteria. じゅぎょうのあと、ゆみとはなはカフェテリアへいきます。 They eat lunch together. ふたりはいっしょにひるごはんをたべます。

「きょうのじゅぎょうはどうだった？」 Hana wa kikimasu. 「たのしかった、でもむずかしかった、」 Yumi wa kotaemasu.

After lunch, Yumi has another class. ひるごはんのあと、ゆみはまたじゅぎょうがあります。 She studies hard. ゆみはいっしょうけんめいべんきょうします。

Finally, Yumi goes home. さいごに、ゆみはうちにかえります。 「ただいま！」 Yumi wa iimashita. 「おかえり！」 Yumi no okaasan wa iimashita.

Yumi is tired, but happy. ゆみはつかれています、でもうれしいです。 Tomorrow will be another good day. あしたはまたいいひです。

ゆみはねむります。

ユミの大学生活の初日

ユミは大学生です。今日はユミの初めての日です。ユミは緊張していますが、楽しみにしています。

ユミは早く起きます。ユミは歯を磨き、服を着替えます。ユミは朝ごはんを食べます。朝ごはんはトーストです。ユミはトーストが好きです。

ユミはトーストを食べます。トーストは美味しいです。朝ごはんの後、ユミはカバンを取ります。ユミは家を出ます。ユミは大学へ行きます。

「行ってきます！」ユミは言いました。お母さんは「行ってらっしゃい！」と言いました。

ユミはバスに乗ります。バスは混んでいます。ユミは座って、今日の予定を考えます。「今日は何をするのかな？」

大学で、ユミは友達のハナに会います。

「おはよう、ハナ！」ユミは言いました。ハナは「おはよう、ユミ！」と言いました。

ユミとハナは最初の授業に行きます。教室は大きいです。

「ここは大きいですね、」ユミは言いました。「はい、大きいですね、」ハナは言いました。

先生が教室に入ります。「皆さん、おはようございます、」先生は言いました。

「おはようございます！」ユミとハナは言いました。

先生は授業を始めます。ユミは聞いています。ユミは勉強します。

「日本語は難しいです、」ユミは思います。「でも、頑張ります！」

授業の後、ユミとハナはカフェテリアへ行きます。二人は一緒に昼ごはんを食べます。

「今日の授業はどうだった？」ハナは聞きます。「楽しかった、でも難しかった、」ユミは答えます。

昼ごはんの後、ユミはまた授業があります。ユミは一生懸命勉強します。

最後に、ユミは家に帰ります。「ただいま！」ユミは言いました。「おかえり！」ユミのお母さんは言いました。

ユミは疲れていますが、嬉しいです。明日もまた良い日になりますように。

ユミは眠ります。

English Translation

Yumi is a university student. Today is Yumi's first day. Yumi is nervous, but she is also excited.

Yumi wakes up early. Yumi brushes her teeth and gets dressed. Yumi eats breakfast. Breakfast is toast. Yumi likes toast.

Yumi eats toast. The toast is delicious. After breakfast, Yumi grabs her bag. Yumi leaves the house. Yumi goes to university.

"Goodbye!" Yumi said. Her mother said, "Take care!"

Yumi gets on the bus. The bus is crowded. Yumi sits and thinks about today's plans. "What will I do today?"

At university, Yumi meets her friend, Hana.

"Good morning, Hana!" Yumi said. Hana said, "Good morning, Yumi!"

Yumi and Hana walk to their first class. The classroom is big.

"This place is big, isn't it?" Yumi said. "Yes, it is big, isn't it?" Hana said.

The teacher enters the classroom. "Good morning, everyone," the teacher said.

"Good morning!" Yumi and Hana said.

The teacher begins the lesson. Yumi listens. Yumi studies.

"Japanese is difficult," Yumi thinks. "But, I will do my best!"

After class, Yumi and Hana go to the cafeteria. The two of them eat lunch together.

"How was today's class?" Hana asks. "It was fun, but it was difficult," Yumi answers.

After lunch, Yumi has another class. Yumi studies hard.

Finally, Yumi goes home. "I'm home!" Yumi said. "Welcome back!" Yumi's mother said.

Yumi is tired, but happy. She hopes tomorrow will be another good day.

Yumi goes to sleep.
